Snapshot 3   No.30-39

39. July 12th = June 5th
5th day moon Walked jiro later than usual to avoid summer heat, and it became dark.
Though I assumed the moon is for the 3rd day of June in luni-solar calendar, it looks already the 5th day of the 6th month.

37. Wooden horse
uma 2013 July uma 2011 August
Wooden horse at the South Park looks standing steadily.
This was installed after the damaged plastic type. Checking of past pictures indicates 2 years will pass next month since its coming.
The durability could be better than that of plastic.

35. Hangeshou@(Lizard's tail?)
Hangeshou Today, July 2nd, is said to fall on the Hangeshou this year (acc. to the tradional luni-solar almanac). As usual as every year, we received the herb called Hangeshou from a neighbour.
It is an interesting plant in that the surfaces of the upper leaves are white. In addition, it is said that the white color returns to green when the blooming ends.
It is also interesting that the origin of its naming is not well known, from the almanac or Zen sect.
While the olden and traditional name is kata shiro gusa (a half white herb). Simple and crystal clear. That is it should be.

34. Ladies' tresses
Nejibana Ladies tresses are conspicuous on the turf these days.
Though the figure looks strange. this style might be reasonable when the flowers are continuosly produced, as in DNA double helix and spiral shells.
Another name is mojizuri (compared with the ordinary name of nejibana in Japanese).

Enku Made a picture frame for a press clip to an exhibition of Enku, a buddhist monk and sculptor, held this spring.
Another one for a fine printing was also made, but the ad cutting better suits Enku.

31. Ume apricot
ume fruit Though an ume tree at our lot had not looked to bear fruits this year, 2 pieces of the fruit were lying on the ground.
Close checks between branches revealed several pieces more, which were picked before their drops.
Small numbers of the fruit seem to have resulted in larger sizes than usual years.B
